PMP Certification Online Boot Camp: 5 Different Options and Price Points

PMP Certification Online Boot Camp: It’ll Be Hard, But Worth It

Have you left getting PMP certified a bit late? Are you cutting it close to renewing but haven’t had the time to study? Are you having difficulties accessing in-person study venues because of COVID-19, or simply for the fact that venues have closed down, or are too far from where you are? That’s where having online boot camps might help.

These PMP Certification online boot camps can not only help you get all the requisite knowledge to pass the PMP exam, they can do so in a much shorter time frame, also giving you the flexibility to choose when and where you do the study.

I feel that everyone deserves the opportunity to upskill, no matter their level of income. That’s why I’ve included a few options that I’ve found that will cater for those who might not have hundreds of dollars lying around.

What a good PMP Certification Online Boot Camp should achieve

There are a plethora of choices out there at different price points. I’ll cover a range below. No matter if you choose one of these or others, they should have the following qualities:

  1. Should cover the required 35 contact hours (PDUs) of project management training, as per PMI guidelines,
  2. Should be available on-demand, 24/7. Whether you’re based in Asia, America, Africa, Europe or the Asia Pacific, you need to be able to access the training material when you need them.
  3. Should be standardized. The PMP is a global certification, so you need to make sure it is truly accredited and not a rip off of the real thing.

3 Options at Different Price Points

Udemy: PMP Course (Knowledge Area-Based) (39 PDUs)

Cost: <$20 USD (once off)

You can’t go past Udemy as a low cost option for education. You get access to certified trainers who have done the hard yards and walked the walk, happy to share their knowledge with you now. The only thing to be wary of is the quality of the educator. Do some research on the educator themselves, contact them, even find them on LinkedIn (they should have a LinkedIn profile if they’re legitimate) and see if they’re for real. The best thing is that if you don’t think you’ve gotten the value you should have, Udemy has a 30-day Money-Back Guarantee.

GoSkills: Project Management Bootcamp

Cost: $250/year

GoSkills is another provider that can help you achieve success in the PMP Certification. This particular course here is a bootcamp that is run by a professional PMP holder, Ray Sheen. It has 121 lessons, over 60 hours of study material and is CPD certified. $250/year is a bit more expensive than Udemy, but still a respectable price and is cheaper than other options.

Project Management Academy: PMP Certification Training Online

Cost: $1,995 USD (once off)

The Project Management Academy is one of the more reputable online education providers to have come out of the United States. The great thing is that they have an online bootcamp option that anyone can take from anywhere in the world, providing 35 hours PDUs, one-on-one instructor tutoring and best feature yet, 2,000+ test exam questions in a simulator to really prepare you for the real thing. It’s a pretty hefty cost, but might be the best option to get you battle ready.

If possible for any of these, see if you can expense them to your company, particularly the last option. If not, the Udemy or GoSkills options might be best to get you upskilled and earning enough first instead of coughing up the money to begin with.
