Project Management Certification Online Florida – 3 Top Universities and Their PM Course Options Below

When people think about which of the US states have the most project managers, Florida wouldn’t be the first to come to mind. This state in USA South East is known more so for its agriculture and tourism, though there are up and coming industries like aerospace, life sciences and security and IT that are becoming embedded in Miami and other cities in the area.

Irrespective of which industry you work in, if you’re based in this lovely state, you should have every opportunity to grow your project management career. Sure it’s never going to be banking central like New York or a thriving tech hub like San Francisco, but it still contributes heavily to America’s GDP – and you are a big part of that.

For the rest of this blog, I’ll go over some of Florida’s key tertiary project management offerings and how they can help you take the next step in your PM career.

1 – University of South Florida

The great thing about about Florida is that it’s a no-nonsense state. A lot of the bigger, commercial states have fancy pants MBAs which, let’s be frank – cost a lot of money and aren’t what you necessarily need to boost your career.

The courses at the University of South Florida are a great example of universities supporting continued education beyond graduate level to boost you up.

Their Project Management Certificate is flexible and has three parts, as shown in the screenshot above. Each part costs under $900, which you can do online from a live class. It’s designed to fit around busy professionals who have lives to live. Fast track it all to be done in a year or spread it out.

2 – Florida State University

FSU’s Graduate Certificate in Project Management is another great option for those who want their studies to bend and flex around their schedules. The convenient thing about this certificate is that it only takes 12 hours to complete, all of which can contribute to the 35 PDU requirement the PMI has for qualifying to do a PMP Certification online.

They have on-campus and well as digital-led options, so if you wanted to visit Florida’s public university and soak in the ambience, you’re welcome to. If you want to soak in the knowledge from the comfort of your couch with a glass of red, that’s fine by them as well.

3 – Florida Atlantic University

Florida Atlantic University rounds out this list. The College of Business is where you can explore their project management options.

As the screenshot above mentions, FAU has a couple of different PM options. If you’re a couple years into your career and sort of “fell into” project management, it could be worth looking into the first option, whereas the Executive Certificate is better if you’ve been around the block a few times and want to formalize your knowledge with a leading university to ultimately prepare you for the industry standard Project Management Professional Certification by the PMI.

Three great universities, each with online-led options to help you take control of your project management career. Whether you plan to stay in Florida or eventually venture off, you should definitely take advantage of this state’s resources before you spread your wings. Let me know what option you eventually went for, I’d love to hear your story!
